The Power of Gratitude

Scripture Reading: Luke 17:17-19
“Jesus asked, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?’ Then He said to him, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.’”
In this passage, ten lepers are healed by Jesus, but only one returns to give thanks. All ten received the miracle, but only one responded with gratitude. Jesus notices the missing nine, reminding us that thankfulness is not a small act — it's a reflection of the heart.
The one who returned recognized that his healing was not just physical, but spiritual. He understood that gratitude is more than polite acknowledgment — it is worship. His thankfulness revealed faith, humility, and a heart changed by God’s mercy.
Jesus’ response is powerful:
“Your faith has made you well.”
The others were healed outwardly, but this man was restored inwardly. Gratitude opened the door to deeper spiritual wholeness. When we pause to thank God, we align our hearts with His goodness and acknowledge His hand in our lives.
Gratitude turns moments into worship.
It transforms blessings into deeper intimacy with Christ.
It shifts our focus from what we lack to the One who provides.
