Mutually Encouraged

Date: February 13, 2026

Scripture Reading: Romans 1:12

“When we get together, I want to encourage you in your faith, but I also want to be encouraged by yours.”

Paul expresses a desire not only to strengthen the believers in Rome, but to be strengthened alongside them. His words reveal humility and a deep understanding of how God works through community. Faith is not meant to grow in isolation. God often builds His people through shared encouragement.

This verse highlights the beauty of mutual strengthening. Even an apostle recognized his need for fellowship. No one matures alone. When believers gather with sincerity and openness, faith deepens through testimony, prayer, and shared perseverance. Encouragement becomes a two-way gift.

Romans 1:12 also reminds us that encouragement is active. It involves presence, listening, and speaking truth in love. God uses ordinary conversations and faithful relationships to renew hearts and reinforce hope. Community is one of His primary tools for sustaining belief.

As we move through this season, this verse invites us to examine how we engage with others in faith. Are we allowing others to strengthen us, and are we intentionally strengthening them? God designed His people to grow together.
