From Death to Life

Date: December 12, 2025

Scripture Reading: John 5:24

“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears My word and believes Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.”

Jesus speaks with clarity and authority, offering assurance that reshapes how we understand life, judgment, and salvation. Eternal life is not presented as a distant reward reserved only for the future. It is a present reality for those who hear His word and believe. Faith in Jesus moves a person from death to life — not gradually, not conditionally, but decisively.

This passage also speaks to the security found in Christ. Jesus says that those who believe will not be judged. This is not because judgment disappears, but because it has already been satisfied through Him. The weight of condemnation no longer rests on the believer. Instead, grace stands in its place. What once separated us from God has been removed, and a new life has begun.

Crossing from death to life changes how we live. It reframes our identity, our hope, and our direction. We no longer strive to earn acceptance; we live from a place of acceptance. Obedience becomes a response to grace, not a requirement to achieve it. Faith anchors us in the finished work of Christ and invites us to walk confidently in the life He has given.
