Experience the Goodness of God
Date: January 31, 2026
Scripture Reading: Psalm 34:8
“Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!”
This verse is both an invitation and a promise. The psalmist does not call God’s people to simply hear about His goodness, but to experience it for themselves. Faith is not meant to remain distant or theoretical. God invites His people into a relationship where His goodness is personally known and deeply trusted.
“Taste and see” implies participation. It suggests stepping forward, trusting God enough to experience Him firsthand. Often, we wait for complete understanding before trusting, but this verse flips that order. Trust leads to experience, and experience strengthens faith. The goodness of God becomes clearer as we draw near to Him.
Psalm 34 also reminds us that blessing flows from trust. Those who take refuge in the Lord find stability, protection, and satisfaction that cannot be found elsewhere. God’s goodness is not dependent on circumstances. It remains constant even when life feels uncertain or challenging.
As we close this season, Psalm 34:8 invites reflection on how we approach God. Are we keeping faith at arm’s length, or are we stepping in with trust? God’s goodness is not hidden from those who seek Him. It is revealed to those willing to experience Him fully.
