Carrying Our Own Load
Date: November 29, 2025
Scripture Reading: Galatians 6:3-5
“If anyone thinks they are something when they are not, they deceive themselves. Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.”
Paul addresses a heart issue many believers struggle with — the temptation to elevate ourselves, compare ourselves, or measure our worth by looking at others. Pride leads us into deception, but humility brings clarity.
Instead of comparison, Paul calls us to examine our own lives before God. We are responsible for our choices, our obedience, and our private devotion. Growth does not happen through competing with others, but through honest self-assessment and dependence on Christ.
- We are not called to carry someone else’s identity.
- We are not called to run someone else’s race.
- We are not called to imitate someone else’s assignment.
God has given each of us a “load” — a purpose, a calling, and a responsibility uniquely shaped for our life. When we stay focused on the work God has entrusted to us, we walk in humility, gratitude, and spiritual maturity.
- Comparison distracts.
- Pride blinds.
- Responsibility strengthens.
As we carry our own load, we honor God by walking faithfully in what He has specifically placed in our hands.
Main Takeaways
- Pride deceives us; humility allows us to see ourselves accurately.
- We are called to test our actions and take personal responsibility for our walk with Christ.
- Each believer has a unique load to carry — a calling entrusted by God.
