All Things Made New

Date: December 31, 2025
Scripture Reading: Revelation 21:4-5

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.’ He who was seated on the throne said, ‘I am making everything new!’ Then He said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’”

As this year comes to an end, many people pause to reflect on what has passed. Some moments were joyful and life-giving. Others were heavy, painful, or unfinished. Scripture does not ignore that reality. Instead, Revelation lifts our eyes beyond what has been and points us toward what God has promised.

John’s vision shows us a future where God Himself brings comfort. Every tear is wiped away, not dismissed or minimized. Pain, loss, and sorrow are not simply managed — they are removed. The brokenness that marked life in this world does not carry over into what God is preparing. The old order passes away, and something entirely new takes its place.

God’s words, “I am making everything new,” speak directly into moments like this one. At the close of a year, we are reminded that time does not trap us in what was. God is not finished. What feels worn down, unresolved, or painful is not the end of the story. Renewal is not wishful thinking — it is a promise spoken from the throne of God Himself.

This hope shapes how we step forward. We do not move into what’s next carrying despair or fear. We move forward trusting the One who restores, renews, and keeps His word. Because God is faithful, the future is not defined by loss, but by restoration.

Main Takeaways

  • God promises a future where pain, sorrow, and death no longer exist.
  • Renewal is certain because it is declared by God Himself.
  • Hope in God’s promises gives strength as we move forward into what’s next.
