According to His Purpose
Date: December 24, 2025
Scripture Reading: Ephesians 1:9-10
“He made known to us the mystery of His will according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”
Paul lifts our perspective beyond the present moment and into the heart of God’s eternal plan. What once seemed hidden has now been revealed through Jesus Christ. God is not reacting to history as it unfolds; He is directing it. Everything moves according to His purpose, rooted in His goodness and carried out through Christ.
These verses remind us that God’s will is not chaotic or fragmented. His plan is centered on unity — bringing all things together under the authority and lordship of Jesus. This includes what is seen and unseen, what feels resolved and unresolved, what makes sense now and what does not yet. Even when life feels disjointed, God’s purpose remains intact.
For believers, this truth brings peace. We are not wandering through random events or disconnected seasons. Our lives are woven into something far greater than we can fully see. God is steadily working toward restoration, reconciliation, and completeness in Christ. Trust grows when we remember that God’s timing is intentional and His purposes are sure.
